DAAD Dinner Talk in Hybrid format on 29 March 2023 at 6:30 pm: Security and Artificial Intelligence
The Dinner Talk will take place on Wednesday, 29 March 2023, at 6.30 pm at the Panafric Hotel, Valley Road, Nairobi.
We are delighted to introduce Prof. Dr. Joachim Posegga as our guest speaker.
Prof. Posegga is the Chair of IT Security at the University of Passau in Germany and has been heading the IT security group there since 2008. Additionally, he has extensive security research experience in major industrial players in Germany.
About the presentation: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IT Security represent two of the most critical challenges facing our digital society. This talk aims to provide an overview of these topics, beginning with an explanation of the fundamental questions that IT security seeks to address. From there, we will examine recent advances in Artificial Intelligence and their significance for IT Security, using ChatGPT as an example.
This presentation is tailored towards a non-technical audience, with the goal of explaining complex concepts intuitively; the intention is to raise awareness of the critical role that AI plays in securing our digital infrastructure and the ongoing challenges we face in achieving this goal.
Dinner Talks are an event format introducing a renowned scientist from Germany with a subject-specific presentation on a topic relevant to our time. Afterward, we encourage our audience – you – to engage with the scientist on issues raised during the talk, not least to initiate and foster potential future collaborations.
