Germany – here we come!
From the call for applications that closed in October 2022, 12 Kenyans and one Rwandan were selected for funding for PhD studies at various universities and research institutions in Germany. Three of them are beneficiaries of the scholarship programme jointly funded by the DAAD and the Government of Kenya that has been running since 2011. At the celebration, Dr. Eliud Musotsi represented the NRF, DAAD’s partner in the joint programme.
DAAD PhD scholarships to Germany are open to all fields and studies, hence the new members of the DAAD family will, for the next three years, carry out research in fields like mineral exploration and mining, plant breeding, telecommunication engineering, but also education, law and psychology. They will be initiated into German culture through a German language course starting in June before the begin their research with the winter semester in October.
Join us in congratulating Lincoln Githenya, Winnie Chelangat and Nashon Obiri (DAAD NRF programme) as well as Abiud Bosire, Evelyne Arasa, Mwaka Mupe, Alfred Mwachugha, Maureen Koech, Denis Kiplimo, Joshua Onkang’i, Noel Japheth, Grace Ochieng and Leonce Ngirinshuti!
