As a direct response to the significant demand within the region, the DAAD Nairobi recently organized an Open Day at the Goethe-Institut Nairobi on the 11th of May, 2024, to provide the general public with further information about its various programmes.

Participants asking questions at the info desk

More than two hundred individuals from across the city attended the event, and more than fifty percent of them expressed an interest in attaining their master’s degrees in Germany. DAAD representatives discussed, in detail, the available DAAD Scholarships, including Masters’ programmes like the Development Related Postgraduate Scholarships (EPOS), the Helmut Schmidt Programme (PPGG), and the Leadership for Africa (LfA) Scholarship Programmes as well as PhD and postdoc opportunities in Germany.

Discussion of PhD opportunities in Germany

Additional opportunities for consultation

To further discuss PhD scholarships to Germany, the DAAD is hosting a four-part online lecture series starting in June. Those who would want to take part may do so by registering here.

Two more online seminars are offered for those who are applying to the LfA scholarship programme before the application period ends on June 7th, 2024. To take part, you can sign up right here.

If you have any further questions about the DAAD, you may ask them during our virtual visiting hours that take place on Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. An additional choice could be to visit us while you’re in Nairobi. We are open to the public on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM East African Time.
