At the invitation of Mount Kenya University (MKU), the DAAD Regional Office for Africa presented “Study and Research in Germany” on May 20, 2022 and introduced the DAAD funding opportunities and scholarships on the topic “The Role of Universities, the Public and Private sectors in Peace building for Socio-economic Development”. The DAAD presented an information booth and participated in the panel discussion during the 2nd Conference “Peace, Security and Social Enterprise.”
MKU is a partner in the DAAD-funded In-Country/In-region Scholarship Program and trains DAAD scholars in the Medical Surgical Nursing and Public Health master’s programs. On the sidelines of the conference, the DAAD met some of its grantees, including Deng Bulis Bartalam, a DAAD scholar and refugee from Ethiopia who had to wait more than half a year for his exit documents.
