During his first visit to Germany in March 2023 in Berlin, Kenyan President and DAAD alumnus Dr. William Ruto took half an hour to thank DAAD Secretary General Dr. Kai Sicks for his sponsorship and support, despite his busy schedule. He appreciated the role DAAD plays in promoting education and research, especially in the field of science, in Kenya.
The DAAD funded William Ruto as an In-Country Scholar in 1990-1992 for his Master’s degree in Botany at the University of Nairobi.
