Internationalisation of Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS.International)
Programme goals
The UAS.International programme enables universities of applied sciences to advance their internationalisation at all levels of the university and establish sustainable internationalisation structures and strategically oriented collaborations. At the same time, the programme supports universities in cooperation with their practice partners to prepare students even better for the globalised labour market and to provide them qualification as professionals for German industry.
In recognition of the heterogeneity of the UAS landscape in Germany, the DAAD offers different funding schemes which can be used individually or in combination.
- Projekt funding I: Projects to establish and expand strategic partnerships and networks
- Project funding II: Short-term measures to strengthen strategic partnerships
- Individual Scholarships: Funding for study, intership and research stays, research visits for thesis completion, and participation in conferences abroad, accompanied by a targeted marketing campaign
- Accompanying measures: Consultation, events and exchange of expertise in cooperation with the Competence Centre for International Academic Cooperation (KIWi) as well as UAS-specific training courses offered by the International DAAD Academy (iDA)
All funding options together within the UAS.International program will have an optimal impact of the internationalisation at UAS.
Students are encouraged to share their experiences gained during individually funded study visits and internships abroad with peers at their home universities and put this experience to use for international collaborations.
Universities are encouraged to actively use all the offered funding options in combination in order to advance their internationalisation efforts and to increase their educative, research-oriented and innovative potential.
