Germany is a well-respected partner country for higher education, business, and diplomacy. German-East African academic and diplomatic relations, which mark 60 years in 2023, have shaped the biographies of many African academics and alumni who are visible in the regional diversity, across cultures, subject disciplines, and academic traditions.
